As part of our 'ready for winter campaign' some students were selected to visit a local care home - Hawthorn Green Residential home. The students were selected on the basis of academic progress and outstanding behaviour. We brought them some gifts upon our arrival which they appreciated. The students spent time with the residents, shared stories with them and received some great advice from them. They helped them make some paper chains and the residents had lovely things to say about the pupils.
Below are the feedback we received from the care home manager:
I am honoured that the visit made such an impact. It was a pleasure having you and the pupils from Madani Girls School here today.
The pupils interacted extremely well with our residents. They were all so compassionate, creative, patient, willing, and impeccably respectful.
There was a lot of fantastic creativity happening between the residents and the pupils which was very moving to observe. The residents all expressed how much fun they had making arts and crafts, chatting and singing with the pupils. After you all left there were many positive comments made by residents and staff on the pupils behaviour and how much their company meant to them- in particular Geoffrey!
A big thank you for the Orchid, balloons, singing and cards!!
You are all most certainly welcome to visit anytime. Thank you for a brilliant morning
In shaa Allaah we hope to visit them again very soon
